Liver and Biliary Tract Cancer

Liver cancer can originate from liver tissue (primary liver cancer), or cancers originating from other organs can spread to the liver through the blood. (metastatic liver cancer). The most common primary liver cancers are hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma.

Cancers that most frequently metastasize to the liver are colon cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer and prostate cancer.
