Medicine Day Celebrated in ANKA

Gaziantep Private ANKA Hospital Management celebrated this special day of the doctors and health workers who continue their work devotedly on the occasion of 14 March Medicine Day.

The hospital management, who visited the doctors and health workers working at Gaziantep Private ANKA Hospital, celebrated their 14 March Medicine Day. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager Dr. Hunting. Cengiz Bayram, Member of the Board of Directors Ali İhsan Sofuoğlu, Deputy General Manager Yaşar Ağdağ, Head Nurse Ayşe Koç visited the doctors and health workers in the polyclinics for the 14 March Medicine Day. The doctors and health workers on duty thanked the management who visited them on this meaningful day.

“We are professionally worried”

ANKA Hospital General Manager Dr. Hunting. Cengiz Bayram said, “After a long education, difficult exam, assistantship process and stressful working conditions, being a doctor is not an easy profession. In the past, everyone's dream was for their child to become a doctor. However, recently, physicians are faced with the threat of life safety, difficult working conditions, and 'malpractice' lawsuits, as well as the loss of moral value. Especially at the end of malpractice cases, the fact that doctors are faced with compensation cases where they will pay more than they will earn in their lifetime reduces the interest in this profession. Physicians have to find the solution to go abroad. A specialist doctor you have trained goes to another country and does other jobs. Unfortunately, this is something to be ashamed of. For Turkey, the long-term consequences of these problems are worrisome in terms of the quality of education, the future of the profession and public health. Despite these difficult conditions, our physicians, who do not want to disappoint the trust of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who said, "Entrust me to Turkish physicians", continue to work devotedly. There is a need to provide appropriate conditions and eliminate the problems experienced as soon as possible for the efficient continuation of health services. I wish the days when these problems are resolved and March 14 will be truly celebrated as a holiday, I congratulate all healthcare workers on the Day of Medicine.”

Pointing out that the violence against healthcare professionals in Turkey has increased significantly in recent years, Deputy General Manager Yaşar Ağdağ said, “We celebrate the holiday of our physicians and healthcare professionals, who, with their love and care, undertake the sacred responsibility of healing people and connecting them to life, and appreciate their efforts in this sacred profession. Thank you for that. Although they take all kinds of risks while fulfilling this sacred duty, our doctors and health workers are the target of violence. We are all deeply saddened by the fact that violence, which is encountered with a new one every day, has become commonplace. We hope this bleeding wound will heal as soon as possible.”
